Africa like the rest of the world has a rich built heritage that faces the ever-present danger of extinction due to lack of documentation, conflict and gentrification. This lecture hopes to spotlight the gaps yet to be bridged in our public knowledge of endangered buildings in Africa and in fact, other parts of the world.
Our collaborative, the A3 - Archnet Collaborative for Documentation of African Architectures has invited 3 speakers: Kuukuwa Manful, Principal Investigator, Accra Archive; Raj Yudhishthir Isar, Education Director of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture; and Sola Akintunde, Restorations Lead of Legacy 1995. This public lecture rounds off the month-long Orientation Workshops for selected prize applicants.
